LET'S CHANGE RENEWABLE ENERGY PR & COMMUNICATIONS
One campaign at a time...
Do you like writing? Would you like to work for the renewables industry?
As part of our annual graduate recruitment programme, we are looking for a new member of our team.
The role is a graduate-level position with Tamarindo Communications, based in Oxford. We are renewable energy PR and communications specialists.
In practice, what this means is spending your day reading up on the latest in the renewables industry, talking to important industry figures – from insurers to engineers – and communicating their successes to the media. It’s a career where you will finish at half 5 each day, but never find yourself without something new to learn or someone new to speak to.
As a graduate role, this is also an opportunity to learn more about communications and kickstart a career. Through a combination of on-the-job training, mentoring, secondments and formal instruction, you will develop your core public relations, marketing and commercial skills and knowledge of agency best practice.
Importantly, we believe that every member of our team is vital to our success, and from your first day you will be talking to top-level executives and engaging with both clients and the media. You will have the chance to build up strong relationships with industry figures and help the world transition to clean energy, all while pursuing a career that lets you think and write all day long.
Here's what we're looking for:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage projects to deadline
- Knowledge of marketing and brand communication techniques
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong IT competency
- Strong interest in digital, print and broadcast media
- Demonstrable and proven interest in the media and current affairs
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with others
- Interest in renewable energy, maritime and financial services markets preferable but not essential

Still in university and considering a career in communications?
We have 3 paid internships available throughout 2019. Internships will run for 2-6 consecutive weeks and are based in Oxford.
As a Tamarindo Intern you’ll work directly on campaigns and briefs, and support the smooth running of key client accounts. The placement will provide you with insight into PR and marketing agency life and an introduction to corporate communications.
You will have the opportunity to develop corporate writing skills, create editorial content, interact with the media through a variety of different channels, and learn about the business of commercial advocacy.
Here's what some of our interns have said:
My time at Tamarindo was a great insight into life at a fast-paced PR start-up: by the end of the five weeks, I’d secured a piece for a client in a global media outlet, seen a press release I drafted appearing in the news and contributed to building a marketing campaign.
Being given so much client exposure as an intern was amazing: Within the first few weeks, I’d pitched to journalists, seen a press release I’d drafted in the news and researched the fascinating changes occurring in the Australian renewable energy market.
Interning here has made me appreciate how much goes on behind the scenes to get clean energy to the grid: from maintenance workers suspended 100m over the sea, to the logistics of transporting a 70-tonne turbine tower along a public highway, the industry is fascinating!
The internship is suited for undergraduate students who want to gain some hands-on industry experience and don't want to be stuck making coffee!
Applications are accepted throughout the year.
Internship dates are following the end of each Oxford University term; over the summer, December and around Easter, although we have some flexibility regarding the exact dates.
To apply or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
